 Awards found their owners at the Harvest Time Short Film Festival!
Awards were presented at the Harvest Time Short Film Festival, organized for the first time this year by Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department, and the Film Design Club, a student club affiliated with the department. In the competition where 39 films competed, the Best Film Award went to İrem Kaya with the film "Fish", while the Special Jury Prize went to Mert Hakan with the film "Tenasüh".
The screenings and award ceremony of the festival, where high school students competed in the category called First Harvest, and films shot in the 2023-2024 academic year by Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Radio, Television and Cinema students competed in the category called Harvest End, took place on Tuesday, June 4.

The screening program, which started with the Nadas category, which included the films of past graduate students of Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Radio, Television and Cinema Department, ended with the screening of the International Uşak Short Film Festival selection and the finalist student films in the Harvest End category. After the screenings ended, the awards ceremony started.
 
“Our aim is to increase competition among our students and ensure that better films are produced.”

Speaking at the award ceremony, Asst. Prof. Emre Doğan, head of Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and Director of Harvest Time Short Film Festival, said, “This is our first festival, we are in a good place. Our aim is to increase the visibility of our department and to ensure the production of better films by increasing competition among our students. I hope our festival will continue for many years." he said, leaving the floor to the jury president of the festival, writer/director Bülent Sağlam.

In his speech, Bülent Sağlam thanked the students who participated in the festival for providing them with the opportunity to show the world through their own eyes, and then announced that the special jury award was given to Mert Hakan, the director of the movie Tenasüh. After the special jury award, the best film award was given to İrem Kaya, the director of the movie Fish, by Istanbul Gelişim University Faculty of Fine Arts Deputy Dean Assoc. Prof. Murat Doğan.

Harvest Time Short Film Festival ended with a souvenir photo with the festival management, finalist directors and students.
