A social responsibility project, launched in collaboration between Istanbul Gelişim University and Samyeli Special Education Institutions, aimed to provide special education students with a cinema experience and the opportunity to engage in socially interactive environments. The project, organized in three different sessions with three distinct special education groups, is built around the message "Cinema Against Disabilities." The project targeted providing access to special education students, with cinema activities organized in three sessions for groups including students with Down syndrome, children aged 0-6, and students with learning disabilities.

Transformation and Development in the Kitchen: Minimal Kitchen Training

With the social responsibility project carried out in collaboration between Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Radio, Television, and Cinema Department, and the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, children aged 7-8 entered the kitchen. The project aimed to introduce children from foster homes (7-8 years old) to the field of gastronomy and involve them in the production process. Through this project, children were taught the value of production while also raising their awareness on topics like zero waste and recycling.

As part of a food aid campaign to be launched at the institution, students will distribute food to the animals. These activities will be documented through photos and videos, and a photobook will be created with the students and distributed within the institution.

This project emphasizes the importance of understanding, preserving, and passing on Istanbul's rich cultural heritage to future generations. Our cultural heritage consists of values that carry the traces of our past and reflect our history and identity. With this project, we aim to raise awareness of these values and inspire our faculty members and students to take action in preserving and promoting this heritage.

The "Unity in Diversity with IGU" Social Responsibility Project is organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department, and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English) Department at Istanbul Gelişim University. The recorded books will be added to the IGU Library's digital archive and made available for access by visually impaired individuals.

Film Workshops is a social responsibility project organized by the academicians of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Gelişim University. The project aims to conduct filmmaking workshops in various cities of Anatolia and to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of cinema art and the filmmaking process to high school students. The primary goal of the Istanbul Gelişim University Film Workshop Group is to introduce high school students to the magic of cinema and the filmmaking process, to teach the art and its requirements both practically and theoretically, to provide high school students with the experience of shooting documentary/fiction films, and to offer insights into academic knowledge and university life through the expertise of competent academics and directors in the field of cinema. In doing so, the project aims to cultivate the future filmmakers.
