The Faculty of Fine Arts Successfully Completed the 2024-2025 Academic Year Orientation!

As part of the orientation week organized by the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Fine Arts, orientation sessions for six departments within the faculty were successfully completed. These events aimed to support the adaptation process of new students and to provide a productive start to their university journey.

During the sessions held for students joining our university in the 2024-2025 academic year, detailed information about the university and the departments was shared. Topics covered included the Erasmus+ exchange program, double major/minor opportunities, the grading system, voluntary internship programs, student education systems, and email usage. Additionally, the vision and course plans of each department were discussed, offering students a comprehensive introduction. Students also had the opportunity to meet the academic staff one-on-one.

Faculty of Fine Arts 2024-6 Quality General Meeting Held!

The Faculty of Fine Arts Quality Board Meeting was held on November 15, 2024, at 3:00 PM, under the chairmanship of our Dean, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp. During the meeting, the views and suggestions of the participating faculty members and staff regarding the quality process were gathered, and it was decided to present these as a report to the Faculty Quality Board. Additionally, the Faculty Quality Representative, student Ayşegül Bıldırçın, participated in the meeting. Topics aimed at improving all departments and enhancing department-student relations, such as Erasmus+ programs, participation in double major/minor programs, and faculty-student collaboration activities, were discussed. The meeting concluded with a focus on addressing key areas directly impacting these initiatives.

Meeting Held with Faculty of Fine Arts Department Quality Representatives!

An important meeting was held at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year to effectively plan and implement quality processes across the faculty. Led by the Faculty Quality Representative, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezgin Savaş, the meeting focused on developing quality standards for the faculty and integrating them into the departments.

During the meeting, each department representative presented an analysis of their department's current quality processes and offered suggestions for improvement. Participants included Dr. Rabiya Saltık Duvan from the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department, Dr. Gökhan Balcıoğlu from the Interior Architecture Department, Lect. Esra Büyükemir Karagöz from the Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (Turkish and English) programs, Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu from the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, Res. Asst. Dilara Mataracı from the Graphic Design Department, and Res. Asst. Ayten Bengisu Cansever Bayhan from the Communication and Design Department. Each representative shared insights on topics ranging from curriculum development to student feedback, emphasizing the importance of addressing quality management with an interdisciplinary approach. Key topics discussed included the Erasmus+ programs, participation in double major/minor programs, and methods for measuring department-specific quality goals. The importance of strengthening collaboration mechanisms among departments was highlighted, along with the need to evaluate quality standards not only based on academic success but also by focusing on improving students' experiences.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the sustainable contribution of regular discussions to the faculty's overall quality processes and the direct impact of these efforts on education, research, and community service activities.

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp, Meets with Gastronomy Department Quality Representative Student Feyza Tetik!

Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, once again demonstrated her commitment to incorporating student perspectives in quality processes by hosting Feyza Tetik, the Quality Representative Student from the Gastronomy Department, in her office for a meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to encourage active student participation in developing quality processes related to education, administration, and student experience within the faculty, while providing Feyza Tetik with the opportunity to convey the opinions of the students to the dean’s office. During the meeting, the reflections of the faculty’s quality policies on students and the feedback processes were discussed in detail. Feyza Tetik presented a comprehensive report covering the needs, suggestions, and evaluations of the students regarding current practices. It was emphasized that student feedback on various issues, ranging from course content to social facilities, could contribute significantly to the faculty’s quality processes.

Highlighting the vital role of students in the faculty, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp stated:
“The opinions and suggestions of our students are extremely valuable to us. We place great importance on having their voices heard and their contributions to the continuous improvement of quality processes. Students like Feyza Tetik, who act with a sense of responsibility, play a crucial role in achieving our quality goals as a faculty.”

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp emphasized the faculty administration’s intention to establish a regular communication plan with student representatives. Feyza Tetik expressed her honor in acting as a bridge for faculty students in this process and pledged to continue her contributions:
“As the department's quality representative, my meeting with the dean allowed us to exchange ideas on better understanding and addressing the educational and social needs of students. My primary goal in this role is to amplify the voices of my fellow students and contribute to the development of our faculty.”

This meeting once again highlighted the Faculty of Fine Arts' student-centered management approach and its dedication to maintaining sensitivity in quality processes.
