Week 9 of the “Future Skills” Project: Workshop on Simplifying Complex Problems Held

The “Future Skills” project, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), continues its Spring 2024–2025 semester events at full speed. In the ninth week of the project, a workshop titled “Simplifying Complex Problems: Effective Solution Strategies” was held on Friday, May 9, 2025, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Hande Apak.

During the workshop, participants were presented with a predefined problem scenario that had to be solved using limited resources. Students worked in groups to analyze the problem, develop solution strategies, and evaluate various approaches. Throughout the event, creative thinking, systematic problem-solving, and team collaboration skills took center stage.

The “Future Skills” project aims to enhance students’ adaptability in the rapidly changing digital era, foster multidisciplinary thinking, and enable them to produce sustainable solutions. Covering key topics such as artificial intelligence, digital security, environmental responsibility, and technological literacy, the series also lays the groundwork for the upcoming “Future Skills” course, which the faculty plans to introduce in the near future.

Coordinated by the FFA Dean’s Office, the project seeks to bridge academia and industry, helping students stand out in their career journeys. By the end of the workshop, participants gained valuable hands-on experience in tackling real-world challenges and observed firsthand how solution-oriented thinking can provide a significant advantage in professional life.

The project will continue throughout the semester with new topics and guest speakers.
