 Project and patent meeting has held with the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department Students' Invention Screening Team

In the meeting held under the moderation of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan, the Invention Screening Team consisting of students from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts evaluated project and patent works. Academicians from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, who attended the meeting, provided technical briefings to the team regarding patent application processes and intellectual property rights.

The Invention Screening Team, consisting of students from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts (GCA) at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), held a meeting to evaluate ongoing projects and patent processes. The session, held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 13:00 at the IGU Tower 23rd Floor Meeting Room, took place under the management of FFA Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan.

The main agenda of the meeting consisted of the academic studies of the student team, which is tasked with generating innovative ideas and conducting research specifically in the field of gastronomy. During the meeting, where the team's research and development (R&D) focused activities were examined, the compliance of the presented projects with patentability criteria was discussed in detail. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan shared the strategies to be followed within the university for the projects identified as a result of the team's screening studies.

In order to support knowledge and experience sharing, academicians from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (IAED), Asst. Prof. Dr. Ece Cantemir and Lect. İrem Özpınar, also participated in the meeting. Contributing to the process with their technical expertise, the academicians provided information on how the generated ideas could be registered within a legal framework. Asst. Prof. Dr. Cantemir and Lect. Özpınar conveyed comprehensive information to the students of the Invention Screening Team about stages such as the preparation of patent application files, following the necessary legal procedures, and the protection of national and international intellectual property rights.

The event, where the students' specific questions regarding the projects they are currently working on were answered by the academicians, continued with mutual situation evaluations. The meeting was concluded with the creation of a roadmap for the works to be carried out by the Invention Screening Team in the upcoming period and the planning of the preparatory steps for the registration processes.
