 Mental Health and Balance in the Context of Future Skills: Healthy Methods for Coping with Stress event held!
As part of the "Skills for the Future" project at Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts, events continue to be organized to help students develop the skills needed for the 21st century. In addition to critical thinking, problem-solving, digital literacy, and professional skills, the project also includes activities aimed at strengthening students' mental health. In this context, the Week 4 event was held by Asst. Prof. Aslı Kasar under the title "Mental Health and Balance: Healthy Methods for Coping with Stress."

The event took place on March 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in classroom 606, with a high level of participation from students and academic staff. During the session, the effects of stress on both mental and physical health were discussed. Asst. Prof. Aslı Kasar shared with the participants how stress accumulates in individuals' daily lives, leading to physical and psychological problems, and also provided methods for coping with stress. Kasar emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, mindfulness practices, and relaxation techniques in managing stress. Additionally, she offered practical recommendations that students could implement in their daily lives to protect their mental health.

Such events aim to support students in becoming stronger and more balanced individuals not only in their academic lives but also in their personal development. Through the "Skills for the Future" project, Istanbul Gelisim University aims to equip students with the necessary skills to step into a healthy future, both professionally and psychologically.

Next week, the "Skills for the Future" event series will continue with a workshop titled "Expand Your Influence: Creating Leadership and Social Influence," moderated by Asst. Prof. Aslı Kasar. The event will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in classroom 606. A pre-designed story will be presented to a limited number of participants, and one participant will be selected as a leader to manage a specific problem. Based on the participants' performances, expert feedback will be provided, offering valuable guidance on leadership processes.
