İstanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (Turkish-English), Artificial Intelligence and Design Club organized the “Introduction to Parametric Design Workshop” online on August 15–16, 2026. The two-day event was conducted by Asst. Prof. Sanam Aeinfar.
The workshop, organized for participants interested in parametric design, covered the fundamental principles of parametric design, algorithmic thinking, and computational design processes. Participants carried out hands-on exercises in data flow, basic components, parameter management, and parametric modeling using Grasshopper, the visual programming environment integrated with Rhino 3D.

Throughout the training program, theoretical explanations were supported by practical exercises. The workshop aimed not only to introduce participants to the conceptual foundations of parametric design but also to help them develop basic Grasshopper skills that they could apply in architecture, interior architecture, and other design-related projects.

The two-day training program concluded on the second day with practical exercises and a question-and-answer session.

The event was also associated with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of “Quality Education” and “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.”

We would like to thank Asst. Prof. Sanam Aeinfar for sharing her knowledge and experience in parametric and computational design with the participants and for her valuable contribution to the practice-based training process.
