Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) met with prospective students and their families at the EKET Istanbul University Preference Fair, held between 24 and 26 July. Throughout the fair, where the university was represented at three different stands, comprehensive information was provided on university preferences, career guidance, academic programmes, career opportunities, and scholarship options.
Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) was represented at the fair by academics from different departments. Assoc. Prof. Murat Doğan, Asst. Prof. Gökçe Uzgören, Res. Asst. Dr. Ayten Bengisu Cansever Bayhan, and Lect. Ahmet Bikiç held one-on-one meetings with prospective students and their families. Lect. Ahmet Bikiç, a faculty member in the Department of Visual Communication Design and Visual Affairs Officer at the Directorate of Public Relations and Promotion, also contributed to the fair’s promotional activities.
During the meetings, detailed information was provided about the academic content of the departments within the Faculty of Fine Arts, practice-based courses, workshop and laboratory facilities, internship opportunities, industry collaborations, and career prospects after graduation. Prospective students’ questions were answered in line with their interests, abilities, and career goals, helping them make more informed decisions about their choice of department and profession.
Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp, Dean of the IGU Faculty of Fine Arts and Rector of Istanbul Gelisim University, also attended the fair alongside the academics and met with prospective students and their families.
Throughout the fair, prospective students received free guidance from expert preference counsellors based on their achievement rankings and goals. At the “Let IGU Be Your Coach” area, academic, psychological, and vocational assessments helped students identify career fields suited to their interests and abilities. In the VR experience area, visitors had the opportunity to explore the campus, laboratories, and practice facilities in a virtual environment.
During the three-day EKET Istanbul University Preference Fair, Istanbul Gelisim University supported prospective students’ decision-making processes from multiple angles by bringing together one-on-one interaction with academics, preference counselling, vocational guidance activities, a virtual campus experience, and scholarship opportunities.
