Ahmet Özel continues his artistic journey as a renowned figure known for his distinctive aesthetic and creative style. This exhibition presents works from various phases of Özel’s career, offering viewers a visual exploration of themes related to nature, existence, and the human condition. It provides a profound opportunity to delve into the dialectics of both the aesthetic and emotional aspects of the artist's work.
In the words of art writer and painter Ruşen Eşref Yılmaz, “Özel is an artist who continually embarks on an inner journey, surpassing himself. His works are formed at the intersection of consciousness and intuition, leaving a striking impact on the viewer.”
The opening of the "Magma/Lav" exhibition will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 6:00 PM. The exhibition will be open to visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM until November 20, 2024, at Odunpazarı Contemporary Art Gallery.
Art lovers in Eskişehir should not miss the opportunity to witness Dr. Ahmet Özel’s captivating artistic journey.
From the exhibition bulletin:
The Odunpazarı Contemporary Art Gallery continues its artistic journey with Ahmet Özel. The 32nd exhibition at the gallery, titled "Magma/Lav," will introduce Eskişehir’s art community to Özel’s work.
As Odunpazarı Municipality, we are delighted to host such distinguished artists and bring them together with art lovers. We believe that all forms of art enlighten, provoke thought, and contribute to our cultural and spiritual development.
According to Ruşen Eşref Yılmaz: “Özel is always on a path, walking the inner roads to reach himself. This is the act of an artist who transcends himself but remains rooted. The coherence created in his art, despite the different periods and approaches, shows how deeply and solidly his work is grounded. His pieces, shaped by intuition and consciousness, reflect his existence without any intermediary, creating surprising effects on the viewer. Elements of natural formation, such as happiness, the elixir of life, sprouting seeds, existence, as well as ceremonial aspects like kindness, compassion, and moments of healing, move through his compositions as if they were a single breath.”
At the "Magma/Lav" exhibition, special works reflecting the dialectics of Özel’s aesthetic perspective from all his periods will be showcased. The opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 6:00 PM, and the exhibition will remain open to visitors until Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
On behalf of the Istanbul Gelişim University Faculty of Fine Arts, we congratulate our esteemed lecturer Dr. Ahmet Özel and wish him continued success.
