Department of Interior Architecture and Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design AQAS International Accreditation period extended!

The education quality of the Department of Interior Architecture (IMI) and the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (ICM) within the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) has been re-certified by the international independent accreditation agency AQAS. The accreditation period of our undergraduate programs, whose compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) was approved, has been extended until March 31, 2031.

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Interior Architecture (IMI), and Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (ICM) have achieved another significant success in line with their vision of meeting international standards in education. As a result of the comprehensive program evaluation processes carried out by the Germany-based international accreditation agency AQAS (Agentur für Qualitätssicherung durch Akkreditierung von Studiengängen e.V.), the accreditation of our undergraduate programs has been successfully renewed.

Education quality at European Higher Education Area standards (ESG)

In accordance with the decision confirmed by the commission on April 1, 2026, it was documented that the Interior Architecture and the Interior Architecture and Environmental Design undergraduate programs are in full compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). As a result of the evaluations, it has been proven once again that the education programs offered by our departments fully meet AQAS's program accreditation criteria.

Accreditation period will be valid until 2031

With this decision taken after a full program review, the international AQAS accreditation period for Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Interior Architecture (IMI), and Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (ICM) has been extended to be valid until March 31, 2031. This important development will continue to increase the recognition of department graduates' diplomas in the international arena and their global competitiveness.
