“Talent Management in the Art World” Event Presented a Roadmap for the Creative Professionals of the Future

The “Future Skills” project, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), hosted another significant event on May 27, 2025. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu, the event titled “Talent Management in the Art World” explored in detail how individual talents within the art and culture industries can be identified, developed, and transformed into professional success.

Designed specifically for students aspiring to build careers in visual arts, design, performing arts, and communication, the event shared key strategies on recognizing and guiding creative potential. Participants gained comprehensive insights into career planning, portfolio development, entering the art market, and network building within creative industries.

In his presentation, Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu emphasized that “Talent is not merely an innate gift but a process shaped through guidance, discipline, and strategy.” He underlined the importance of students focusing not only on their artistic production but also on how to construct and sustain their professional identity.

Throughout the event, key elements of effective portfolio preparation were demonstrated through example works. During the Q&A session that followed, students had the opportunity to receive personalized mentoring tailored to their career paths and areas of interest.

Participants described the event as both inspiring and instructive, noting that it helped them understand the importance of not only creating but also strategically presenting and positioning their work within the creative industries.

The “Talent Management in the Art World” event served as a valuable experience for Faculty of Fine Arts students, helping them clarify their career visions, better utilize their creative skills in professional contexts, and take confident steps toward entering the art and culture sector.
