At IGU, the “Future Skills” Project focused on artificial intelligence in its 9th week!

The “Future Skills” project, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), continues its Spring 2024–2025 semester activities at full speed. In the 9th week of the project, a workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence and Big Data: Two Forces Shaping the Future” was held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

The workshop, led by Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltık Duvan and Res. Asst. Dr. Büşra Kılıç, explored artificial intelligence models, data analysis, algorithms, and current applications through both theoretical and practical approaches. Designed with an interdisciplinary perspective, the event focused on how AI can be applied in fields such as architecture and cinema.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in real-world problem-solving scenarios, addressing key topics such as data-driven thinking, algorithmic solution development, and ethical evaluation. Throughout the session, students experienced interdisciplinary collaboration through both individual and group work, developing creative and analytical solutions.

Organized to prepare students for the professions of the future, the workshop also served as a content foundation for the upcoming “Future Skills” course that the faculty plans to introduce in the near future. The event series, shaped around themes such as digital security, technological literacy, and environmental responsibility, aims to help students develop multidimensional thinking and sustainable problem-solving skills.

Carried out under the coordination of the Faculty of Fine Arts Dean’s Office, the project strengthens university–industry collaboration, supporting students in transitioning into the professional world with greater competence and vision.
