In his opening speech, exhibition curator Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa GÜNAY made the following statements about the artist and his works;
“Born in Mardin in 1947, İsmet Yedikardeş completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Mardin. In 1972, he entered the Department of Ceramics and Sculpture at the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts. He finished this department in 1977. During his education in Germany, he continued his ceramics, painting, and sculpture works uninterruptedly. He shared his works in Germany with art lovers in 5 groups and 4 personal exhibitions. İsmet Yedikardeş transfers Mardin, which has had its share of the cultural erosion, especially in the last fifty years, to the canvas with his unique imagination and artistic power, taking into account not its current state but its original state before its deterioration. The artist, who has held workshops, group exhibitions, and personal exhibitions in many countries from Germany to America, continues his work in his workshop in Istanbul. In the exhibition From Reform, İsmet Yedikardeş brings together his works for Mardin and the works he produced with different techniques such as ceramics and oil painting.”
We congratulate Mr. İsmet Yedikardeş for the opening of the exhibition "Reform from Reform", where valuable works are exhibited, and we express our sincere gratitude to him and all the participants.
