 Turkey's First Gastronomy Guide: Gastronomy Guide with Pearls!

For the first time in Turkey in 2017, in cooperation with Hürriyet and Karaca; a gastronomy guide has been prepared with an evaluation and rating system.
For the first time in Turkey in 2017, in cooperation with Hürriyet and Karaca; a gastronomy guide has been prepared with an evaluation and rating system.

The guide is prepared by leading names in the food and beverage industry, food writers, advisory board members, and inspectors whose identities are kept confidential. The guide includes restaurants in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bodrum, Antalya and Bursa, as well as Gaziantep and Adana. Apart from restaurants, there are also flavor points in these cities. Additionally, restaurants are examined under different headings such as "Centuries-Old Places" and "Newly Opened Places". Apart from this, restaurants that opened and closed during the year will be updated on the website.

The first thing to consider when selecting secret inspectors to work in the gastronomy guide is that the people to be selected do not have any material or moral ties with the restaurants. Care was taken to ensure that there were no chefs, managers, or restaurant owners among the inspectors, as it was considered unethical. In addition, selected inspectors are asked and expected to keep their duties confidential in the restaurants they rate. Nearly 300 inspectors, who contribute voluntarily, evaluate the restaurants they visit throughout the year. Each evaluated restaurant is visited and evaluated by at least 3 inspectors and 1 person from the project team. When evaluating restaurants, they are scored according to certain characteristics such as materials used, service, presentation, taste, decoration, and price.
