 Student Orientation Was Held
An orientation meeting was held for first graders in Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Gastronomy and Culinary Arts department. In addition to the first year students who have just joined the department, second, third and fourth year students also attended the orientation.

Organized by Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, “2022-2023 Academic Year Orientation Meeting” was held on Friday, October 7 at 11:00 in K Block Firnas Auditorium Hall. Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan, Res. Asst. Ayşe Seray Çetin and Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu attended the meeting chaired by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Aslı Albayrak. At the orientation meeting, all Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students were informed about the university, department and profession. In the meeting, which hosts the second, third and fourth grades with the predominance of the first graders, various information about the functioning of the department was given to the students of the department. At the meeting, where the academic staff was also introduced, the demands and needs of the students were tried to be understood.

What Students Should Pay Attention to

Head of the department, Prof. Dr. Aslı Albayrak, first started the meeting by introducing the department lecturers to the students. Within the scope of the orientation, first of all, general information was given about the operation of the department. In the meeting, where the students were informed that the department website and the counseling system should be followed, information was given about the class advisors. Emphasizing that the first graders should contact Prof. Dr. Aslı Albayrak, the second and third graders Res. Asst. Ayşe Seray Çetin and Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu, and the fourth graders Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan, the importance of following the regulations, directives, announcements and news on the website was emphasized. In the meeting where it was stated that the internship coordinator should be contacted for questions regarding the internship, it was underlined that the hierarchical system in the faculty and department should be followed. It was emphasized that the complaints about the courses should be discussed with the department chair after the lecturer of the course, and information was given about the student representation.

The orientation meeting ended after the students were given the right to speak after the reminders and briefings and the evaluation of student requests and demands.
