Turkey Cinema Work Owners Association (SE-SAM) has celebrated its 32nd anniversary and 104th year of Turkish Cinema with 104 awards at “Those who Brought Turkish Cinema from the Past to the Future” Award Ceremony. In the ceremony, which was an unforgettable night for Turkish Cinema, the faculty members of Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Cinema and Television, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müzeyyen Sevtap Aytuğ Lecturer Kerem Yükseloğlu and Research Assistant Korhan Topçu were among the guests.
The ceremony was held in Beyoğlu Grand Pera with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the General Directorate of Cinema. Cüneyt Arkın, Betül Arkın, Kaan and Aslı Cüreklibatur, Ediz Hun, Aydan Şener, Orhan Gencebay – Sevim Emre, Serdar Gökhan, Engin Çağlar, İzzet Günay, Selda Alkor, Belkıs Özener, Süleyman Turan, Şemsi İnkaya, Suzan Avcı, Suna Selen, Meral Konrad, Devlet Devrim, Nilüfer Aydan, Ferdi Tayfur’un kızı Tuğçe Tayfur, Selami Şahin’in kızı İrem Şahin, Şükrü Avşar and other important figures have attended the award ceremony. Many cinema workers who served in Turkish cinema for many years were also awarded at the ceremony.
Important artists who lost their lives were commemorated. In his opening speech, SESAM’s First President Yılmaz Atadeniz stressed that today’s Turkish cinema and the TV series sector come from the past, it owes its past to the workers of the Turkish cinema. The press also showed great interest and the ceremony lasted around 4 hours.
