Merve Karadaban Özen came together with the students of Alaeddin Yavaşça Fine Arts High School at our university within the scope of academic guidance activities for high school students. At the event organized to introduce the university environment to the students, a comprehensive informative presentation on interior architecture and environmental design education, the functioning of studio classes, and future career opportunities was first held.

Freedom for creativity with visuals, textures, and colors

Following the informative session, a special demo class titled "Imagining Space with Collage" was held under the coordination of Res. Asst. Merve Karadaban Özen in the Drawing Studio No. 201 in J Block on Monday, April 27, between 10.45 and 12.00. In the workshop, which brings the practice of conceptual thinking, one of the most important steps of design education, to the high school level, participants transferred their imaginary spaces in their minds onto paper using visuals, different textures, and colors. Students found the opportunity to set their creativity completely free during the design process.

Design candidates experienced the university environment

Thanks to this interactive event, university candidate youths personally experienced the design studio atmosphere that forms the basis of the interior architecture profession. This study, which enables students to express both their motor skills and spatial perceptions on a two-dimensional plane, was highly productive in terms of conveying the applied nature of design education to young talents.

We would like to thank Res. Asst. Merve Karadaban Özen for this enjoyable event that broadened the vision of prospective students and provided them with a professional perspective.
