 Award for the Film in which Research Assistant Korhan Topcu is the Project Consultant
Award for the short film named “Toka” which was on World Premiere in India and of which the Project Consultant is Department of Cinema and Television Research Assistant Korhan Topcu
The short film “Toka” of which has received production support from Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism and of which the Project Consultant is Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cinema and Television Research Assistant Korhan Topcu Has represented Turkey in Tenth International Childrens’ Film Festival which was held in Lucknow, India in April.
 
The short film under the theme of “Occupational Health and Safety” is based on the lives of a father and young daughter living in a town in Anatolia. The film continues to take part in national and international festivals and competitions after its premiere in India.  Lastly, Toka was awarded the Best Actor Award in the national category at the HAK-IS Seventh International Short Film Competition which is organized under the theme “Respect to Work.”
 
The film was previously screened at The European Union Human Rights Short Film Competition , ILO (UN International Labor Organization) Turkey Office project named Promotion of Social Dialogue in Working Life organized under the “Social Dialogue and Trade Union Rights” Themed Short Film Competition and Marmaris Short Film Festival.
 
Toka (Hairgrip)
Synopsis: Harun is a worker who has a 5-year-old daughter and works in a factory where steel doors are produced. The historic stone bridge in his hometown has a special meaning for him, and they spend weekends there with his daughter Ayla. Harun describes the bridge with his important moments in his life. How will an occupational accident affect the rituals of Harun's life?
