Art as an Expression of Emotional Power

Congress President Prof. Dr. Fikri Salman regarding congress and art, stated that art, which is an expression of emotional power, strengthens its character by finding itself in culture, which is the common story of every civilization. Salman stated that art has existed as a cultural product and a means of expression from the first human societies to the present day. He added that human beings have been able to carry their living standards to a more meaningful and functional dimension with the objects they have produced through their acts of perception, comprehension and design since the early ages, they can express their thoughts, feelings, traditions and beliefs, and create their own form of artistic expression.

In the Context of Cartoon Art, Copyrights were Transferred from the Perspective of the Artist

Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdem Çağla, who made a statement about his proceeding titled “Copyrights in the Context of Caricature Art”, emphasized that although there is a lot of information about the art of caricature, caricature competitions and caricature genres, there is no study in the literature that evaluates caricature and copyright together. By examining concrete copyright disputes related to cartoons, which are extremely difficult to reach as a source, Çağla emphasized that copyright should be perceived from the perspective of the artist, without entering the technical field of law, and emphasized the importance of creating the level of awareness that cartoonists who violate copyright should have.

We congratulate Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdem Çağla for his presentation and wish him continued success.
