A new research article by Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdem Çağla, a member of the Graphic Design Department (GRA), titled "Examination of Sofia Metro Logo and Metro İstanbul Logo in the Scope of Plagiarism" has been published in the Premium E-Journal of Social Sciences.

New research article titled “Examination of Sofia Metro Logo and Metro İstanbul Logo in the Scope of Plagiarism” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdem Çağla, a member of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Graphic Design Department (GRA), Premium E-Journal of Social Sciences’ sixth volume, twenty-fourth issue, was published on 30 November 2022.

Metro Istanbul Logo Usage Examined

In his article, Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdem Çağla, which examines the Sofia Metro logo and the Metro Istanbul logo within the scope of plagiarism, stated that the boundaries of communication have disappeared thanks to the internet, and that access to information and documents from all over the world has become quite easy, and that the graphic design and advertising sector impressed by these developments. As a result of this influence, Çağla added that graphic design has been computer-aided for the last 30 years and that also benefits from the opportunities offered by the internet, adding that graphic designers use computers and the internet almost every minute they practice their profession. According to Erdem Çağla, before the design process begins, preliminary research can be done and information can be obtained on the subject to be designed on the internet. In addition to this, Çağla stated that the history, visual identity and design details of companies, institutions and organizations operating in the same sector or service area can be accessed in a few seconds. He added that it also paves the way for plagiarism.
