 Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts Opens Its Doors to High School Students!

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) is organizing a special event for high school students on May 15-16, 2024. This event, offering a unique opportunity for young people interested in the world of art and design, will be filled with various exhibitions, workshops, and talks.
Exciting Stages and Event Details:

Art-Filled Discovery: QR Code Exhibition

Throughout the event, students will gain access to digital art pieces via QR codes placed around the university. Scanning these codes will reveal surprise artworks in various locations, from walls and corridors to gardens and the library. This way, students will not only see the art but also discover different aspects of it. Each QR code will also provide information about the artist and the design process.

Future Creators: Student Projects Exhibition

Projects created by students of the Communication and Design Department over the past year will be showcased in the "Future Creators: Student Projects Exhibition." This event will feature works in photography, graphic design, film production, and other fields, allowing visitors to closely observe the creativity and skills of the students and discover the potential of the department.

Journey to the Cinema Industry: Equipment Experience Area

Organized by Research Assistant Okan Kırbacı, this event will present cinema equipment from the Faculty of Fine Arts to visiting students. They will have the opportunity to examine and experience the equipment, gaining practical insights into the cinema industry.

"Through the Eyes of Young Photographers" Photography Exhibition

This exhibition, curated by Dr. Ali Kemal Çipe, will feature final projects from Photography I and II classes, displaying over 20 photographs. The works reflect the perspectives of young photographers and will take visitors on an art-filled journey.

Screen of Young Filmmakers: Journey to the Art of Award-Winning IGU Students

This event will celebrate the achievements of young filmmakers by showcasing award-winning films. Screenings will take place at the IGU Small Cinema, where students will display their talents in the world of cinema.

Colorful World of Design: Meet Interior Architecture – Student Projects Exhibition

Projects from the Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English) departments will be featured in the "Colorful World of Design" exhibition. This exhibition will include furniture and lighting designs, inspiring young people interested in the world of design.

Campus Stories: Student Journeys and Inspirational Experiences

IGU students will introduce university and faculty departments through talks, providing high school students with insights into campus life and academic programs. These talks will serve as a platform for students to share their university experiences and inspirational stories.

Workshops and Hands-On Experiences

Throughout the event, workshops will offer students the opportunity to develop their creative talents. Workshops such as "If I Wrote My Experiences, They Would Be a Movie!", "Sky View: Drone Technologies Workshop", and "Hero's Journey: Become the Hero of Your Story!" will provide students with experience in screenplay writing, drone usage, and storytelling.
 
Discover the Limits of Imagination: Creative Expression Workshop with Collage Art

In this art workshop, students will explore creative expression through collage works made from magazine images, photographs, fabric, and similar materials.

Class Participation and Campus Experience

As part of the "Be an IGU Student for a Day!" event, students will have the chance to participate in ongoing classes and experience university life. They can attend classes in the Graphic Design, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Communication and Design, and Radio, Television, and Cinema departments.
