Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Graphic Design Department (GRA) 2022-2023 academic year orientation meeting, on October 11, at 14:00, in J Block 286 class, was held with the participation of department academic staff and first year students.

With the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year, the departments of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) started to hold orientation meetings for first year students. In this context, the academic staff of the Graphic Design Department came together with the students who have just started the department and held the orientation meeting, which was organized for the purpose of getting acquainted and giving information about the university and the department's operation. While the meeting was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Kuş, who is the Head of the Graphic Design Department, and Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysun Cançat, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özel, Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdem Çağla and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuri Sezer, who are in the academic staff of the department, also took part in the meeting.

During the orientation meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Kuş gave detailed informations to new students about the academic staff, department curriculum, purpose and objectives of the department, career opportunities, course selections, course syllabuses, exams, grading system, success evaluation, double major and minor opportunities, absenteeism, summer school, internships, academic advisors, systems used by students, student support units and department web pages and wished all students success in the new academic year.
 
“We aim to be an academic year with intense activities within the department.”

Talking about the targets for the 2022-2023 academic year, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Kuş stated that it is aimed to be a year in which activities such as exhibitions, interviews, technical trips, and workshops, which are thought to contribute to the development of students, will be intense.

The orientation meeting, in which the students of the department showed great participation and interest, was concluded with the answers to the questions of the students and the wishes of a successful and healthy academic year.
