Everything students need to know about the 2023-2024 Summer Internship!

Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Department of Communication and Design has approved the "new internship regulations."
The Department of Communication and Design Board has approved the "New Internship Regulations" with decision number 2023-23-02. Here are the key points:

Application Period: Summer internship applications must be made at least 15 business days before the start of the internship.

Internship Period: Summer internships can be conducted between the end of the spring semester and the start of the fall semester. Students can perform their mandatory internships from their second semester onward under Summer Internship I and Summer Internship II. Current students can complete their internships during the summer period. However, there is no such obligation for students who have graduated. Graduated students can do their internships at any time as long as they do not have classes.

Summer School Students: Students enrolled in summer school should plan their internships before or after summer school. It is not possible to take summer school courses and do an internship simultaneously.

Internship Record Form: It must be delivered by the employer in a sealed, stamped, and initialed envelope. When filling out the first page of the student internship file, indicate the class's summer period in which you are doing your internship. The workplace's address and contact information must be complete. The "certifying authority" section on the "record form" page must be filled out by the authorized person at the internship location, including their name, surname, position, date, signature, and stamp. When filling out the "Internship Record Form" page, if it's your first internship, check the 1st Group Internship box; if it's your second internship, check the 2nd Group Internship box. When filling out the "Trainee Student Attendance Tracking Chart," exclude public holidays and Sundays. Fill in the days completely. Do not cross out or correct errors on the days. If a mistake is made, start a new page. The bottom of the page must have a signature and stamp.

Internship Diary: Must be submitted within 1 month after the end of the internship. The diary must be filled out digitally and contain at least 60 words for each day. All pages must be signed and stamped by the manager of the place where the internship was conducted. When filling out the internship diary, the tasks performed should be written in detail and supported by photographs. Visuals can be pasted or stapled into the diary (do not use paper clips for attaching documents or photos to prevent them from getting lost). If there are digital visuals or files, they can be uploaded onto a CD and stapled to the inside of the back cover of the internship diary. Formal language and sentences should be used in the writings. Passive verbs should be preferred in sentences, e.g., "done," "executed." The internship diary should be printed and bound using one of three methods: spiral, bound, or hardcover. Transparent folders or stapling are not accepted.

Internship Visuals: Cannot be submitted separately; they must be within the internship day's header.
