Res. Asst. Dilara Mataracı, one of the candidates who was entitled to enter the Department of Graphic Design at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) in October, started to work.

Res. Asst. Dilara Mataracı, who has just joined the Graphic Design Department of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), started her duty. Mataracı continued her post-school education until 2010 at the Science and Art Center, where she became a student in 2000. The artist, who graduated from Trabzon Anatolian Fine Arts High School in the same year, started his art education with Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Painting Department. She continued in Prof. Yalçın Karayagiz's Atelier. In Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, Italy, where she was a student with the Erasmus Exchange Program. She was educated in Prof. Rinaldo Novali's workshop. After graduating from the painting department in 2015, she started her graduate studies at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Fine Arts Institute, Department of Basic Education, Basic Art and Design Program. Mataracı, who graduated with the text of the work titled "Water Theme in Western Art", written under the supervision of Prof. Y. Hakan Gürsoytrak, attended the Proficiency in Art program at the Basic Education Department of the same institute. Under the consultancy of Prof. Caner Karavit, she continues her work titled “Formal Analysis on the Compositional Organization of Cloud Images in the Descriptions of the Sky in Painting”. She continues her artistic productions in interdisciplinary fields by combining the traditional material and color knowledge she gained from the painting department with the subjects such as composition, form, color, light and shadow in the Basic Education Department's curriculum.

She continues her productions in her workshop along with her academic studies.

In her paintings, Mataracı uses the images she leaves in her memory of the people, familiar objects and places she encounters in daily life. The uncertainty and dream state that remains behind the fluency of time sometimes turns into portraits and sometimes landscape paintings that she remembers from places she has seen. The artist, whose main medium is paint, strives to express her subjects in a plain language by using all the possibilities of color and surface, without ignoring plastic concerns. The artist, who works on illustration and animation in digital fields as well as traditional materials, continues her productions in her workshop along with her academic studies.

We are happy for the participation of Res. Asst. Dilara Mataracı in the FAF staff and wish her success in her new position.
