A new article by Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, one of the faculty members of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Radio, Television and Cinema Department, has been published.

Res. Asst. Eda Türkay's article titled "Seeking the (Un)Conditional Hos(pita/ti)lity: I’m Thinking of Ending Things (2020)" was published in the 17th issue of SineFilozofi Journal.

The movie I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020) was discussed in the study, which deals with the identity conventions or crises of the guest on the conditions and sometimes unconditionality of hospitality through guest and hosting statuses. In the study, which will be carried out by narrative and character analysis, Jacques Derrida's thoughts on hospitality, Immanuel Kant's and Emmanuel Levinas's writings on conditional and unconditional hospitality have been benefited from. Again, Derrida's hauntology and ghost theory have been supportive in explaining the uncertain atmosphere created by the loss of the boundaries of hospitality. In the study, the fact that hospitality varies depending on the attitude of the host and that the guest is always on the verge of an identity crisis is discussed through the superior-subordinate relationship between the host and the guest; The equivalents of these findings in film language were investigated.
