The project, developed for needy pets temporarily hosted within the Kurtaran Home Association operating in the Arnavutköy District of Istanbul, aims to contribute to the transition process of pets to new living spaces and raise awareness on this issue. Within the scope of the first step of the social responsibility project "Supporting the Transition Process of Pets in Need to Their New Lives" organized by Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, the faculty members involved in the project are Lecturer Selcen Nurcan Keskin Urmak, Lecturer İbrahim Erol, Lecturer Minel Kurtuluş, Res. Asst. Tuğçe Öztürk and Res. Asst. Mustafa Dallı. The needy cats and dogs who are wanted to be given a second chance at life by the Kurtaran Home Association, with the support of the students; improving the temporary lives of the pets with spatial touches, providing photography and visualization support to increase their chances of adoption, and supporting volunteers in the feeding process were carried out.
They carried out a painting activity to provide spatial improvement in the shelters of needy pets.
On Monday, October 23, 2023, at 14:00, project coordinators Lecturer Selcen Nurcan Keskin Urmak, Lecturer İbrahim Erol, Lecturer Minel Kurtuluş and students went to Kurtaran Home Association and painted the areas that needed renovation (such as metal fences, walls, etc.). They contributed to the spatial improvement of shelters for needy pets. The professional photo shoot taken by Res. Asst. Okan Kırbacı during the painting event was thought to be useful in increasing the visibility of pets in adoption. The second and third steps of the relevant social responsibility project will be feeding the pets in need and exhibiting the photographs taken at the relevant events and sharing them on social media accounts, and the social responsibility project will be terminated after these stages.
