Res. Asst. Mustafa Dallı from the Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department (English Program), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), successfully presented his PhD thesis proposal as part of his doctoral studies. Following the jury evaluation held in the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, his thesis proposal titled “Evaluating Structural, Environmental and Spatial Performance of High-rise Buildings: A Study on Hexagrid Structural Systems” was approved to be conducted as a doctoral dissertation.
Dallı’s doctoral research aims to evaluate the structural, spatial, and environmental performance of hexagrid structural systems in high-rise buildings through a holistic approach. The study seeks to support early-stage design decisions in high-rise building design through data-driven methods by employing parametric modeling, performance analyses, and optimization processes. The research also proposes an original methodology that includes the production of a 1:1 scale steel prototype and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to physically and environmentally validate digital analyses.
