The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English) at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) successfully conducted its midterm juries for the 2025-2026 Fall Semester. In the evaluations, where Asst. Prof. İbrahim Erol, Asst. Prof. Halise Betül Bulut, Asst. Prof. Sanam Aeinfar, Lect. Serenay İnceoğlu, and Lect. Cansu Sözer served as both course coordinators and jury members, students presented the projects they developed throughout the semester.
The midterm juries were held on the following dates:
-
Monday, March 30: Graduation Project
-
Wednesday, April 1: Design Studio II
-
Friday, April 3: Design Studio IV
At each studio level, students underwent a comprehensive evaluation process by presenting their semester-long design projects to the jury. The jury panel, consisting of Asst. Prof. İbrahim Erol, Asst. Prof. Halise Betül Bulut, Asst. Prof. Sanam Aeinfar, Lect. Serenay İnceoğlu, and Lect. Cansu Sözer, guided the students through critical assessments.
During the evaluations, core design criteria such as research, concept development, spatial analysis, material selection, and representation techniques were taken into account. Projects that stood out in terms of creativity, functionality, and presentation language were highly commended by the jury members.
The department faculty emphasized that these juries are not just an evaluation process but also a vital learning experience for students to develop creative thinking, critical perspective, and professional presentation skills.ç
The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design continues to enhance the analytical, aesthetic, and technical skills of its students through studio courses that address design problems at various scales.
We congratulate all our students for their hard work throughout the semester and extend our gratitude to the coordinators and jury members for their valuable contributions.
