Interview with Our 3rd-Year Angeline Kiluba Lukavu on Her Erasmus+ Experience
İstanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English) Program, 3rd-year student Angeline Kiluba Lukavu answered our questions about her Erasmus experience:
1. Hello Angeline, welcome! How did you decide to participate in the Erasmus program, and why did you choose State University of Applied Sciences in Przemysl?
I decided to join the Erasmus program to experience studying abroad, meet new people, and grow both academically and personally. I chose the State University of Applied Sciences in Przemyśl because it offered interesting courses and an english program.
2. What surprised or challenged you the most when you first arrived in Poland?
What surprised me most was how kind and helpful people were, even with language barriers. The biggest challenge was adapting to the cold weather and a new culture.
3. How does the education system and class structure at PANS differ from our university?
At PANS classes are more practice-oriented and often in smaller groups. Here, the system feels more formal and lecture-based, but both offer great learning experiences.
4. What can you tell us about social life, cultural activities, and opportunities for Erasmus students in Poland?
Unfortunately there were no social actvities for erasmus students offered by the welcoming university but Erasmus students have great opportunities to continue another academic cycle there. I also enjoyed several festivals that helped me learn more about Polish music, art, and design.
5. Can you share a memorable experience or a fun moment from your Erasmus journey?
One of my favorite memories was a weekend trip with other Erasmus students to Kraków, it was full of laughter, music, and new friendships.
6. What advice would you give to students considering the Erasmus program?
My advice: don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Be open-minded, get involved, and enjoy every moment, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
We would like to thank our student Angeline Kiluba Lukavu and wish her continued success in her career...
