Interior Architecture And Environmental Design (English)

Industry Cooperation Protocol Signed Between IGU and MekArt Design Lab!

An "Industry Stakeholder Cooperation" protocol has been signed between Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, and MekArt Design Lab, a leading firm in interior design and application.

Within the scope of its vision to strengthen university-industry cooperation, the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design has signed a strategic partnership with MekArt Design Lab, a company offering professional solutions in areas such as interior design, 3D visualization, and project management. Realized under the leadership of the IGU Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, this protocol aims to build a bridge between academia and the professional world of design for students.

Theory and Practice Meet in Design

The protocol aims to integrate MekArt Design Lab’s sectoral experience in furniture design, restoration, and implementation processes into the educational curriculum. Through this cooperation, students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design will have the opportunity to observe the "kitchen" of design firsthand, experience technical application processes, and develop projects in line with the expectations of the real sector.

New Opportunities for Future Designers

In accordance with the signed protocol, many activities are planned to enhance the professional qualifications of students, such as joint workshops, design seminars, technical trips, and internship opportunities. Combining MekArt Design Lab’s high aesthetic and technical quality standards with IGU’s academic expertise, this partnership will play a critical role in preparing students for the industry post-graduation.

With this cooperation, it is aimed that students gain professional awareness across a wide spectrum, ranging from project management to material selection, rather than just designing spaces.
