Asst. Prof. Gökçe Uzgören and Asst. Prof. İbrahim Erol, faculty members of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, attended the "Application and Research Centers Scientific Research Projects Workshop," organized to increase Istanbul Gelisim University's scientific research capacity and encourage the production of highly qualified projects. During the event, held in cooperation with the Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordinatorship, project preparation processes, evaluation criteria, and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities were comprehensively discussed.


The "Application and Research Centers Scientific Research Projects Workshop," organized by the Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Application and Research Centers Coordinatorship for the preparation of scientific research projects, was held on February 18, 2026, at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Side Hall. Aiming to increase the quality and quantity of research activities carried out within our university, this important event was attended by Asst. Prof. Gökçe Uzgören and Asst. Prof. İbrahim Erol, faculty members of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, representing our department.

In the workshop—implemented in line with the decisions taken at the Application and Research Center Directors Coordination Meeting held in November 2025 and the incentives of the university's senior management—the preparation process of scientific research projects, evaluation stages, and support mechanisms were comprehensively discussed. During the event, an informative presentation was delivered by BAP Coordinator Asst. Prof. Serap Yeşilkır Baydar, in cooperation with the Scientific Research Projects Coordinatorship (BAP-K). Within the scope of the presentation, detailed information was conveyed to the participants regarding the general framework of scientific research projects, specific details on project types, preparation and evaluation criteria, and project execution processes.

In the afternoon session of the workshop, views were exchanged on sharing project ideas, evaluating interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, and transforming existing research potential into concrete projects, with the participation of center directors, researcher network members, and academicians.
