Visual Communication Design

The Visual Communication Design Department's Summer Internship Process Is Now Fully Online

The Department of Visual Communication Design at Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, has taken an important step toward digital transformation by moving the entire summer internship process to an online platform. As of the 2025 summer term, all internship applications and internship report submissions will be conducted exclusively through the OBIS system.

Important Guidelines for the Digital Process:

The internship report must be prepared digitally and uploaded in PDF format via the OBIS system. Handwritten or scanned documents will not be accepted. A minimum of one paragraph must be written for each workday, using a formal and academic tone. Passive voice should be preferred (e.g., "was completed," "was observed"), and the use of first-person expressions such as "I did," "I saw," or "I participated" should be avoided.

The report content must be visually supported with relevant materials such as photographs, sketches, or screenshots. These visuals should be placed directly after the written explanation for each day.

Documents to Be Included in the Internship Report:

  • Cover Page: Must include the student's full name, student number, class year, and full contact information of the internship institution.

  • Evaluation Form (Sicil Fişi): Must be completed by both the student and the internship institution. The section reserved for the department’s internship committee should be left blank.

  • Attendance Sheet: Must include daily entries with the firm representative’s signature and stamp. National holidays and Sundays should not be included.

Submission Procedure:

Once all required documents are completed, the entire internship report must be compiled into a single PDF file and uploaded to the OBIS system. Printed copies, binding, or in-person submissions will not be accepted. Reports with missing or incorrect documents will not be evaluated.

Tracking the Process:

Students can track the status of their internship application and report submission step-by-step through the “Application Status” section in the OBIS system.

Thanks to this digital transition, students will be able to manage their internship process more efficiently and quickly, while also contributing to environmental sustainability by reducing paper use.
