 Speaking of Class Representatives!


The student representative meeting, which takes place every year at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Radio, Television, and Cinema Department, acts to provide active participation to the students in the administration, took place online this time.


The Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema often continues to listen to students' requests and complaints to have each student, who is an internal stakeholder, have a say in the decisions taken. Every year, the student representative meeting is held for this purpose, and the student representative of each class attends the meeting to convey the requests and complaints they collect from their classmates. In this year's meeting, Eda Çekemci and Okan Kırbacı, research assistants of the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department, listened to the demands of the students.

In Word Class Representatives:

Ahmet Tevhid Kuzu, who participated in the meeting as the representative of first-year students, directed his questions about the academic calendar that changed with the transition to distance education. Res. Asst. Eda Çekemci and Okan Kırbacı gave information about the changes in the academic calendar. Speaking about the statements of YÖK, Kırbacı informed the students about the new midterm and final exam dates and possible exam systems.

Buse Namlı, who attended the meeting as the representative of sophomore students, talked about the concerns that arise with the online teaching of the lessons. Namlı, who conveyed his questions about the functioning of the applied courses and the exams, was informed about the new decisions taken by the department board about the applied courses.

Participating in the meeting as the representative of third-grade students, İrem Kaya conveyed questions and complaints from her classmates about the use of equipment and shooting conditions in their projects. Res. Asst. Eda Çekemci and Res. Asst. Okan Kırbacı talked about the changing expectations within the scope of the projects, the new decisions that are taken, and how the equipment will be used in the online conditions.

Participating in the meeting as the representative of the fourth-grade students, Tuğçe Çeşmeci asked questions about the delivery processes of the projects, specific to the Graduation Project course. Res. Asst. Eda Çekemci talked about the change in the delivery schedule in parallel with the change in the academic calendar regarding graduation projects and informed the students that a separate meeting was planned for the projects.

Hilal Tatar, who attended the meeting as the department representative, mentioned that the distance education process has progressed smoothly so far and that they did not have any problems attending the classes. Tatar, who has similar concerns to his friends, stated that they will share the notes taken after the meeting with their classmates. Res. Asst. Okan Kırbacı stated that they can always communicate with questions and problems that may arise after the meeting and gave information about the counseling hours of the faculty members.

After all, the questions were answered, the meeting ended. We would like to thank our representative students who participated.
