On September 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., the Radio, Television and Cinema Department orientation meeting took place in classroom 390 of Block J at Istanbul Gelişim University. The session began with an opening speech by the Department Chair, Asst. Prof. Emre Doğan, who introduced himself and the department, while also mentioning upcoming faculty- and department-based events, workshops, talks, and club activities, inviting students to take part in them. Following Dr. Doğan’s address, Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltık Duvan, Asst. Prof. Ali Kemal Çipe, and Res. Asst. Dr. Eda Türkay introduced themselves to the students and explained the semester’s structure.
In the next stage of the meeting, Res. Asst. Okan Kırbacı engaged with students through a comprehensive presentation on important university and departmental regulations. This included information on the university’s general guidelines and regulations, courses, curriculum, exams, attendance rules, and potential issues students may encounter throughout their academic journey. He also provided guiding advice on steps and strategies for academic success. Furthermore, details were shared about the Erasmus+ program, library facilities, and other student services. Res. Asst. Kırbacı encouraged students not only to focus on academics but also to take full advantage of social activities and personal development opportunities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the student representative of the Radio, Television and Cinema Department offered suggestions based on personal experiences. The representative encouraged students to participate in community work and social responsibility projects in addition to their academic life, emphasizing the importance of being actively involved in the department.
