Cinema for 0-6 Age Group Against Barriers for the Second Time!
The second session of the Special Education Cinema Days Social Responsibility Project was held which was organized by the Radio, Television and Cinema Department of Istanbul Gelişim University.
The Special Education Cinema Days Project, organized by the Radio, Television and Cinema Department, continues with new sessions after the first session in July. With the second session of the project, the message “Cinema Against Barriers” was given again.
With the social responsibility project implemented in cooperation with Istanbul Gelişim University and Samyeli Private Education Institutions, it was aimed that special education students have a cinema experience and enter social interactive environments.
After the first session of the Special Education Cinema Days project held on July 26th, 2022, the second session was completed on September 29th, 2022. The cinema experience planned for special students within the scope of the social responsibility project was held in the Pocket Cinema hall of the Radio, Television and Cinema Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Istanbul Gelişim University. Instructors and administrative staff of Samyeli Special Education Institution, special education student group aged 0-6 and parents participated in the event.

The second of the events, in which Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Asst. Prof. Dr. Sezgin Savaş was the project concultant, and the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp and Asst. Prof. Dr. Rabiya Saltik from the Radio, Television and Cinema Department was the project manager, started with the opening speeches of Saltik. Making the evaluation of the first session, Saltik shared the happiness of the institution management and the positive feedback he received from students and parents. Stating that Special Education Specialist Ali Atlı personally called her to thank her, Saltik stated that it was exciting to experience the magic of cinema through a social responsibility project.
A Fun Movie for 0-6 Age Special Education Group: “The Lion King”
The movie The Lion King was watched with the special education group aged 0-6. The movie event was completed with pleasure with food and beverage snacks.
Students and Parents are Satisfied with the Project
After the cinema screening, children and parents expressed their satisfaction with their participation in the social responsibility project and stated that such social responsibility projects are extremely important for the social interaction of children.
Social Responsibility Project Will Continue
The social responsibility project will give the message “Cinema Against Barriers” for the last time with the new session that will take place in the coming days.
