Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltik Duvan took part in a TUBITAK supported project as an instructor!
Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltik Duvan, an academic member of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), took part in two events as part of the project carried out within the scope of TUBITAK 4008 Projects for Individuals with Special Needs.
Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltik, who took part in two events titled “Discovery Stones: Science and Art Meeting” and “Natural Patterns: Leaf Printing Workshop” as an instructor within the scope of TUBITAK 4008 Projects for Individuals with Special Needs, carried out the events with the participation of individuals with special needs between the ages of 9-12 diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
The activities, which aim to provide students with ASD with a creative experience to develop their manual skills, encourage artistic expression and provide opportunities for social participation, are expected to help students with ASD express their creativity, develop their manual skills and encourage their social interactions. The aim is to increase students' self-confidence by giving them the freedom to create their own designs.
Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltik Duvan stated that all the activities carried out within the scope of the project were very valuable and that producing with individuals with special needs provided her with a very creative and enjoyable process.
