 Things to Know About the Internship Book Preparation and Delivery Process


The answers to the most frequently asked questions of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Department of Interior Architecture students regarding the internship book preparation and delivery process have been compiled.


Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Department of Interior Architecture students start their summer internships at the end of their second and third years. Important information about the students' internship book preparation and delivery process is listed below:
 
INTERNSHIP BOOK PREPARATION PROCESS
 
Points to consider when filling out the compulsory summer internship book:
 
• You can download the internship book from this link.
 
The internship book must be filled out in a computer environment.
 
• The student must enter the information of which class they are doing the internship in the summer term on the first page of the internship file. The address and contact information of the workplace must be complete.
• The "document approved by" section on the "Record slip" page must be filled in with the name, surname, duty, date, signature and stamp information by the internship location official. This page must be placed in an envelope by the institution where the internship was done, and the envelope must be signed and stamped. This envelope must be delivered separately.
• When filling out the "Record slip" page, those who are doing their first internship must check the 1st Group Internship box, and those who are doing their second internship must check the 2nd Group Internship box.
• The activities performed on each workday must be explained in at least one paragraph.
• Formal expressions and sentences must be used in the text.
• Passive verb usage must be preferred in sentences, for example; "done," "done."
• First person singular suffixes such as "done," "etdim" must be avoided in sentences.
• Visuals supporting the written explanations must be sufficient and must be placed following the relevant day.
• Visuals can be glued or stapled to the internship notebook. Visuals must not be attached with paperclips to prevent the risk of loss.
• If there are digital images or files, they can be loaded onto a CD and stapled to the inside of the back cover of the internship notebook.
 
• The "intern student attendance tracking chart" on the last page of the internship notebook should be filled in in accordance with the dates in the internship notebook. If a mistake is made, the page should be filled in again. There should be a signature and stamp at the bottom of the page.
 
At the end of each workday, there should be the approval of the authorized person at the end of the page and on the intern student attendance tracking chart.
 
The internship notebook should be printed and prepared as spiral, hardcover or backed. Transparent files or methods such as stapling are not accepted.
 
There should be no documents stuck, overflowing or that could fall inside the notebook, and the notebook should be delivered in an orderly and tidy manner.
 
INTERNSHIP BOOK DELIVERY PROCESS
 
The internship notebook should be delivered in person to Res. Asst. Eliz Mutlu Tekay and Res. Asst. Başak Lale for the Department within 1 month at the latest from the end date of the internship.
 
INTERNSHIP BOOK EVALUATION PROCESS
 
The books of students who submit their internship books to the department are checked by the internship committee every two weeks.
If the items specified in the IGU Internship Directive or the Interior Architecture Department Internship Principles are not provided or are found to be missing, the internship book is not accepted. The internship committee may interview the student who is found to be missing and ask questions about the content of the internship book. The deficiencies are notified to the student within 1 month at the latest.
 
The deficiencies are completed within a maximum of 10 business days and the updated internship book is resubmitted to the department. If the internship book is still not accepted, the student can take the book back.
 
If the items in the IGU Internship Directive or the Interior Architecture Department Internship Principles are provided and the internship committee approves, the internship book is approved. The approved internship books are delivered to the IGU Student Affairs Department by the end of the semester following the internship at the latest.
