 The First Stage of Interior Architecture Technical Drawing Workshops Has Been Held!


A workshop series has started by Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Interior Architecture Department, aiming to reinforce the architectural technical drawing knowledge acquired by the department students in the first year.


"Technical Drawing Training", which aims to convey the basics of interior architectural technical drawing to the students who take the course, within the scope of the "IMI225 Building Construction I" course of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Department of Interior Architecture, on Monday, 10.11.2022. It was held between 12.30-14.00 in IGU K Blok, 14th Floor studio. Approximately 20 (twenty) Interior Architecture Department students attended the training, which was coached by Res. Asst. Başak Lâle.

The workshop was organized with the aim of demonstrating the basic technical drawing skills to the second year department students in a four-week period. In the event, which constitutes the first stage of the workshop series, first of all, students were informed about scale drawing. It was mentioned how the equivalent of the real measure in 1/1, 1/10, 1/20 and 1/50 scales should be transferred to the paper with a level of detail. Then, how to draw a sample plan, axis lines, column and wall layouts at 1/50 scale, was explained with reference to line thickness and continuity. The details of the opening/closing window drawing in the interior were explained practically by drawing attention to the points that need attention. Finally, the students were shown practically what kind of perimeter a sample interior would have in 1/50 scale.

Res. Asst. Başak Lale stated that thanks to the trainings planned within the scope of IMI225 coded Building Construction I course and covering a period of 4 (four) weeks, students will both be familiar with the essentials of technical drawing and test their design skills in the drawing process that requires effort and effort. Res. Asst. Başak Lale said that 'thinking by drawing', which forms the basis of her design practice, will be an acquisition acquired in the university environment and supporting the architect/interior designer throughout her career, and finally thanked all the students who participated.
