Interior Architecture

Successful project from Interior Architecture Student Şevin İnag within the scope of industry collaboration!

The Department of Interior Architecture at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), continues to connect its students with the industry. One student, Şevin İnag, successfully implemented a 3D design project she created in collaboration with Babacan Furniture Design and Decoration.

The Department of Interior Architecture at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), has added a new project to its educational approach, which combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience to prepare students for professional life. The department connects students with leading companies in the sector, offering them the opportunity to participate in real-world projects. This approach allows students to strengthen their portfolios and gain a deep understanding of industry dynamics before graduation.

One of these collaborations was between Interior Architecture Department student Şevin İnag and Babacan Furniture Design and Decoration. Between April 13 and 17, 2025, İnag worked on a project for the firm located in the Denizköşkler neighborhood of Avcılar. As part of this collaboration, İnag undertook the 3D design and visualization of the project, transferring her academic expertise to a professional project. The student's modern and functional design was appreciated by the firm, which then used it as the basis for the project and implemented it. This successful outcome is proof of the tangible and productive outcomes university-industry collaboration can produce.

“It's a source of pride to see our students' designs come to life.”

Asst. Prof. Dr. Kadir Öz, Head of the Interior Architecture Department at IGU Faculty of Fine Arts, expressed his satisfaction with the student's success: “Our greatest joy is seeing a design process that our students begin with a dream transform into a final product or space. Şevin İnag's collaboration, which took an idea through technical drawing and three-dimensional modeling to a project ready for implementation, demonstrates the success of the education we provide as a department. These types of projects equip our students not only with technical skills but also with professional competencies such as understanding customer expectations and time management. We are proud of our student's participation in this creative and productive process and the success she has achieved.”
