Res. Asst. Başak Lale was a Guest of the Art, Design and Architecture Faculty Vertical Project Jury of a Foundation University as a Jury Member!

Başak Lale, Research Assistant at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Department of Interior Architecture, joined the Vertical Project Jury of the Architecture Department of a foundation university on 20 June 2022 as a jury member.

Within the scope of INAR201, INAR202, and INAR301 coded Interior Architecture Studios conducted by Lecturer Aslı Kırbaş; Home-office design was studied in the first-class studio, store design in the second-class studio, and restaurant design in the third-class studio. In each of the projects, site research was conducted in the context of the function assigned to the space by the students, and the most suitable location in Istanbul was selected. The opinions of Res.

Asst. Başak Lale talked about the project jury as follows:

“I had the opportunity to attend the final presentations of the Istanbul Işık University, 2021/2022 Spring Semester, Vertical Studio (INAR201, INAR202, INAR301 coded, Interior Architecture Studios) final presentations, which were held online in the past weeks, this time face-to-face. At the end of the spring semester, where I had the opportunity to closely examine the technical features and concepts of the projects in the interim jury, and within the scope of the technical drawing coloring training held after the interim jury, I had the opportunity to experience the final products of their projects at the end of the spring term, where I gave the students the necessary details to present their projects better. All students participating in the jury presented the final versions of technical drawings (plan, section perspective, axonometric and detail drawings), concept, material, and mood board sheets to the jury members. After briefly explaining the persona they plan to live in the space and the function/editing of the space, the students were given critiques on their final work. While these critiques mostly remained at the level of detail due to the advanced level of the projects, suggestions were made for the projects to be added to the academic portfolios later on. It was seen that each of the studies had proficiency well above the requirements of the relevant academic year and was a highly improved version of the mid-jury submissions in terms of presentation. In this sense, I congratulate every student who participated in the jury for their efforts, which can be read from the final product, and I would also like to thank Lecturer Aslı Kırbaş for both leading such pleasant studies and for her kind invitation.”

We congratulate Res. Asst. Başak Lale and wish her continued success.
