Res. Asst. Başak Lale Gave Interior Architecture Plan Coloring Training

Istanbul Gelisim University Interior Architecture Department Research Assistant Başak Lale gave training on interior architectural plan coloring techniques within the scope of a project course at a foundation university.

Istanbul Gelisim University Interior Architecture Department Research Assistant Başak Lale gave training on interior architectural plan coloring techniques within the scope of a project course at a foundation university.
Istanbul Işık University, 2021/2022 Spring Term, within the scope of the Vertical Studio course, Interior Architecture Studio 1, 2 and 3 students carried out color-planning practices under the instructor of Res. Asst. Başak Lale within the scope of the course dated June 2, 2022. Within the scope of the training, the students were first shown the coloring and technical drawing, which were shown practically by Res. Asst. Başak Lale. In the second part of the course, the students applied their education acquisitions on the project technical drawings (plans and sections) they prepared within the scope of the studio. Res. Asst. Başak Lale's views on the content of education and students' achievements are as follows:
“Based on the criticisms given by the vertical studio interim jury of Işık University, where I joined the interim jury last week, I was invited to the studio class by instructor of the course Lecturer Aslı Kırbaş, to give technical drawing coloring training. Considering how diligently students develop their own projects during the term, focusing on the presentation phase will not only improve their midterm outputs, but will also provide the technical information they need in subsequent projects. At the first stage of the training, the coloring steps were shown to the students on a specific plan, along with the marker numbers that could be used in accordance with the function. While coloring floors (wood, marble, ceramics, exterior), furniture, and walls, students were shown with examples of both correct and incorrect applications. During the coloring works, texture and shadow applications were made to keep the drawing alive. In the second stage of the training, the students were asked to color certain areas of their plans with the techniques shown. At this stage, the students were able to easily ask their questions at the necessary points and received criticisms on the points they were stuck on. The training provided allowed students to design and think in three dimensions while coloring the drawings in the second dimension. In particular, the resulting maps, which come out with the completion of the course, reveal the concrete effect of the course on the students. Considering that rendering visualization techniques, which are frequently used in Interior Architecture education recently, hinder the ability of students to think while drawing, I think that the achievements of this education should not be considered only in the context of visualization, but that it gives students the ability to look from other perspectives. I would also like to thank Lecturer Aslı Kırbaş for her invitation.”
We congratulate Research Assistant Başak Lale and wish her continued success.
