Interior Architecture Student Kadir Şengün designed a kitchen as part of an industry collaboration

The Department of Interior Architecture at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), continues to connect its students with the industry. Kadir Şengün, a 100% scholarship student, has completed a professional project in collaboration with TD Yapı.

In this project, implemented within the framework of the Interior Architecture Department's educational approach of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience, Kadir Şengün designed the kitchen for a residential project in Silivri, Istanbul, undertaken by TD Yapı between May 21-22, 2025. Şengün, who worked on both two-dimensional technical drawings and three-dimensional visualizations during the design process, successfully brought his academic competence and aesthetic approach to the project.

"These projects, which connect our students with the industry, are a testament to our educational approach and practice-oriented approach."

Instructor Dr. Member Kadir Öz expressed his satisfaction with the students' success:

“This kitchen design project, undertaken by Kadir Şengün with TD Yapı, is incredibly valuable to us because it demonstrates how our students can translate their creative vision, technical proficiency, and professional perspectives into a real-world project environment. Our student's design stands out not only for its aesthetic and visual qualities, but also for its sensitivity to user needs, meticulous material selection, and technical application expertise. In these types of projects, students not only develop drawing and visualization skills, but also gain multifaceted skills such as time management, teamwork, understanding client expectations, and professional communication. As the Department of Interior Architecture, we operate with a perspective that prepares our students not only for graduation but also directly for the profession. Through industry collaborations, our students have the opportunity to put their academic knowledge into practice by working on real-life scenarios. These tangible outcomes not only boost students' self-confidence and give them a significant advantage in the first steps of their career journey. Kadir Şengün's success is a powerful reflection of this approach. We congratulate him on his meticulous work and wish him continued success.

We congratulate our student Kadir Şengün and wish him many enjoyable projects in his professional life.
