The studio projects, prepared by Interior Architecture Department students with intense effort and dedication over the course of a semester, were presented in jury sessions, accompanied by evaluations from the academic staff. Each project stood out as a showcase of the students' creativity, technical knowledge, and competence in design processes.
During this period, the students focused on designing spaces for stores within Interior Architecture Studio II, headquarters within Interior Architecture Studio IV, and hotels within their Graduation Project. Each project was developed with unique approaches that aimed to combine functional, aesthetic, and user-focused solutions.
During the jury evaluations, projects were evaluated based on criteria such as conceptual approach, spatial organization, material selection relationship, technical competence, visual presentation quality, and originality. Students presented their sheets, the second-dimensional output of their design processes, to the jury and had the opportunity to elaborate on their design decisions through oral presentations.
The jury members for the studio projects were Asst. Prof. Dr. Kadir Öz, Asst. Prof. Dr. Adem Özer, and The project was led by Asst. Prof. Dr.Naz Katırcıoğlu, Asst. Prof. Dr. Minel Kurtuluş, and Lecturer Muhammed Said Erdemonar.
Studio training continues to be one of the most important building blocks in the interior design process, enabling students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. In this context, students acquired versatile skills such as analyzing architectural context, accurately interpreting user needs, developing original design ideas, analyzing programs, creating technical drawings, and effectively using presentation techniques. Furthermore, through the jury selection process, students also developed their critical thinking, professional language skills, and the ability to defend their designs.
The projects also played a transformative role in the students' development of their professional identities, allowing them to reflect on important parameters such as aesthetics, sustainability, and user experience, in addition to developing problem-solving skills.
As the Department of Interior Architecture, we congratulate all students who contributed to the project process on their success. We also thank all the faculty members who played an active role in the development of the projects through their dedicated efforts and guidance.
