Istanbul Gelişim University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Interior Architecture Department continues to blend students' theoretical knowledge with practical field experience from the industry. At the external stakeholder event held on December 31, 2025, in the IGU Tower K Block, Tuğrul Dünmez, a representative from TD Yapı, met with interior architecture students and shared valuable insights to guide their career planning. One of the most noteworthy aspects of the event was that the speaker, Tuğrul Dünmez, was both an active professional in the industry and a student in the department. This special event highlighted the themes of "peer learning" and "entrepreneurship," offering students the opportunity to listen to the success stories of their colleagues and directly experience sectoral dynamics. In the talk titled "The Process of Design Realization," Dünmez detailed the stages of a project's evolution from aesthetic concerns to technical requirements. Emphasizing that it's not enough for interior designers to simply be good at drawing, Dünmez stated that knowing the manufacturing methods of materials such as wood, metal, and marble is critically important for projects to be "feasible and manageable." She also shared her experiences on "legal responsibilities" and "client psychology," areas that new interior designers face the most challenges. The event was attended by the Head of the Interior Architecture Department, Asst. Prof. Kadir Öz, as well as Asst. Prof. Ece Cantemir, Asst. Prof. Minel Kurtuluş, and Asst. Prof. Parvin Heidari and Resç Asst. Başak Lale participated and made academic contributions to the process.
