 Children's Imagination Colored the Spaces!


The social responsibility project with the theme of “Sustainability” continues with the enthusiastic participation of kindergarten students. In the painting event, which constitutes the second stage of the project, the lecturers of the Interior Architecture & Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (Turkish and English) Department came together with the kindergarten students.

In the painting event, which constitutes the second stage of the project, the lecturers of the Interior Architecture & Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (Turkish and English) Department came together with the kindergarten students.

Within the scope of the "sustainability-themed painting activity", which is the second stage of the social responsibility project titled "Places Color with Children", carried out by the Interior Architecture & Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (Turkish and English) Departments in cooperation with Private Seyrantepe Masal Ağacı Kindergarten, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department Deputy Head Lecturer Esra Büyükemir Karagöz, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English) Deputy Head Lecturerİbrahim Erol, Interior Architecture Department Deputy Head Lecturer Minel Kurtuluş and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department Res. Asst. Tuğçe Öztürk visited the kindergarten and met with the students on October 5th, 2022.

Development of Students' Visual Perceptions Supported

A fun activity environment was created for the students of Private Seyrantepe Masal Ağacı Kindergarten within the scope of the project, which aims to support the development of visual perceptions of 5-6 year old children through color, size, shape, texture, function, perspective and space relations, by drawing attention to the concept of sustainability. In the first stage of the event, outdoor drawings were made with the concept of sustainability. Then, the drawings prepared in A4 size were colored together with the children. In the painting activity, which was continued with the enthusiastic participation of the students, a lecture was made by the faculty members of the department about how a sustainable space should be. The subject was reinforced by asking students to give examples. The drawing papers and paints used during the event were given to the students after the event.

“We Are Excited For The Exhibition Of Our Project”

Lectuer Esra Büyükemir Karagöz mentioned that after the second phase of the social responsibility project, information was given about the exhibition, which is the last stage of the project. Emphasizing the importance of young generations' gaining a sensitive perspective towards the world in terms of a sustainable world system, she expressed her happiness for making a small contribution to the development of people as sensitive individuals from a young age, with the social responsibility project "Places Color with Children". Emphasizing the importance of raising a generation that is more sensitive, more conscious, adopts sustainability in every field and has a high environmental awareness, she mentioned that they want to increase the number of studies in this direction under the roof of the Faculty of Fine Arts. She expressed her gratitude to all the teaching staff who contributed to the project, to the teachers and dear students of Private Seyrantepe Masal Ağacı Kindergarten, and emphasized her excitement about the exhibition, which is the final stage of the project.
