 Final Juries successfully held at Istanbul Gelişim Unıversity, Department of Interior Architecture And Environmental Design


Students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts, successfully completed the final juries of their project courses for the Spring Semester.


The final juries of the Spring Semester 2024-2025 were held face-to-face between June 17–19, 2025, on the 14th floor studios of K Block at Istanbul Gelişim University. Students presented the projects they developed throughout the semester to faculty members and invited jury members. Three main project topics were evaluated during the final juries: Design Studio II – Store Design, Design Studio IV – Headquarters Office Design, and Graduation Project – Hotel Design. Students conveyed the processes of their projects in detail through drawings, models, and presentation boards. As part of Design Studio II, students designed original store interiors based on a specific brand concept. The faculty members involved in this project were: Lecturer Esra Büyükemir Karagöz, Lecturer Selcen Nurcan Keskin Urmak, Lecturer Büşra Babacan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kadir Öz, and Lecturer İrem Özpınar. The jury evaluated elements such as user experience, display arrangements, material palettes, and spatial organization. In the Design Studio IV – Headquarters Office Design, students focused on corporate scale office structures and proposed contemporary and ergonomic design solutions to enhance employee efficiency. The academic staff guiding this studio included: Lecturer Hatice Özlem Yeşidal, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hande Apak, Lecturer Çiğdem Gök, Lecturer Esra Büyükemir Karagöz, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Parvin Heidari. Lastly, in the Graduation Project, students concentrated on large-scale hospitality spaces. Their projects addressed various aspects from interior layout planning to landscape organization. The faculty members of this studio were: Lecturer Çiğdem Gök, Lecturer Hatice Özlem Yeşidal, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hande Apak, Asst. Prof. Dr. Parvin Heidari, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kadir Öz.

With the final juries organized in line with the project-based education approach of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, the 2024–2025 academic year concluded successfully. As students step into the next phase of their academic journey well-prepared, the jury process proved to be both productive and inspiring for students and faculty members alike.
