The fair was organized to raise vocational awareness among students in the university preference stage and to convey the fundamental dynamics of design disciplines. Res. Asst. Mustafa Dallı represented the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design on behalf of the Faculty of Fine Arts. Encountering intense interest throughout the day, Dallı gave detailed presentations to prospective students regarding the faculty's vision, the department's academic curriculum, and the technical facilities offered to students during one-on-one meetings.
Merging Academic Vision with Sectoral Experience
Candidates visiting the fair booth had the opportunity to discover the wide range of application areas in the profession of interior architecture—which is not just a department choice but a way of life. Answering questions about Istanbul Gelişim University’s technical infrastructure integrated with technological developments, modeling workshops, and material libraries, Res. Asst. Mustafa Dallı emphasized the importance of the "project-oriented education" model during the discussions. Dallı highlighted how students are involved in sectoral projects even during their education phase and underlined the internship and collaboration opportunities that facilitate their adaptation to the business world after graduation.
Mentorship for Candidates Who Will Design the Spaces of the Future
Acting as a mentor to help young talents channel their interests and potential into the right branches, these face-to-face meetings covered design approaches that provide not only aesthetic but also functional and social benefits. During these sessions, critical discussions were held on spatial design ethics, sustainable architecture centering on environmental sensitivity, and the impact of Industry 4.0 on modern practice through digital design tools such as BIM, VR technologies, and parametric design. These topics provided prospective students with a broader perspective on how the profession is evolving in the digital age.
Not Just a Choice, But a Vision for the Future
Through such organizations, Istanbul Gelişim University aims for students to not only secure a place in an academic unit but also to build a future vision capable of competing on a global scale. The high level of interaction at the EKET Fair increased students' curiosity about the world of design while once again highlighting the interdisciplinary education model offered by IGU FFA.
