Architecture Department students presented their hotel projects, on which they had worked intensively throughout the semester, during a midterm jury evaluation. The evaluation, conducted by Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Erol and Research Assistant Mustafa Dallı as jury members, offered a valuable opportunity for students to assess the current status of their projects and identify areas for improvement before graduation.
Students conveyed their hotel projects, developed based on original concepts they had personally selected, in detail to the jury. Their presentations focused on the functionality of their designs, aesthetic concerns, user-oriented solutions, and technical aspects. The projects, which stood out with diverse thematic approaches, drew attention with the students’ creative ideas and distinctive design languages. Jury members expected students to thoroughly explain the current stage of their projects, demonstrate their presentation skills, and justify the consistency between their chosen concepts and design decisions.
During the evaluation process, hotel projects with varying themes were carefully examined in terms of architectural planning, spatial organization, material selection, principles of sustainability, and innovative solutions tailored to user needs. The jury provided constructive feedback and valuable suggestions to guide the students in further improving their designs. These evaluations helped students refine their design visions, strengthen their professional identities, and express their unique ideas more effectively.
The midterm jury evaluation enabled students to recognize both the strengths and areas for development in their projects, supporting a more conscious preparation for their graduation projects. Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Erol and Research Assistant Mustafa Dallı expressed their appreciation for the students’ dedication and creativity, thanking all participants and wishing them continued success. Such evaluations represent a vital part of the Architecture Department’s mission to enhance the quality of education and prepare students for the future of architectural practice in the best possible way.
