Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) continues to strengthen the digital skills of its academic staff in line with the demands of the digital age. Within this scope, the “Basic Excel Training” held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, took place in the K Block, 22nd Floor Meeting Room, between 11:00 and 12:00, and was completed with high participation from faculty members.

The training, delivered by Asst. Prof. Volkan Öztaş from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, introduced participants to the fundamental functions of Excel, including data entry, formula creation, table organization, chart design, and data analysis, through hands-on examples. During the session, special emphasis was placed on how Excel can be effectively utilized in academic reporting, course planning, and data management processes.

Dr. Öztaş highlighted that Excel is not only a tool for handling numerical data but also a powerful resource for analysis, planning, and project management across various academic and administrative areas. Participants had the opportunity to enhance their digital literacy by gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical experience throughout the session.

At the conclusion of the training, faculty members emphasized that such practical workshops significantly facilitate administrative processes and academic research, suggesting that similar sessions be offered at an advanced level in the future.

We extend our gratitude to Asst. Prof. Volkan Öztaş for his valuable contributions and to all participants for their engagement in the training.
