The project is led by Res. Asst. Dr. Ayten Bengisu Cansever Bayhan, with Res. Asst. Mustafa Dallı and Res. Asst. Okan Kırbacı serving as researchers. The training event was planned to inform participating undergraduate students about the process and to establish a shared conceptual framework.
In the first part of the training, the project team delivered an overview presentation outlining the project’s objectives, scope, and implementation schedule. This session emphasized the importance of a sustainability approach at the campus scale, the role of universities in environmental responsibility, and the significance of students’ active contributions throughout the process. Participants received detailed information about their roles and the production processes they would undertake during the project.
The second phase addressed the concept of sustainability in a multidimensional manner. An interactive discussion focused on environmental awareness, waste management, consumption habits, and sustainable design practices in public spaces. Students shared environmental challenges they encounter in daily campus life and collaboratively developed potential solutions.
In the final part of the program, a brainstorming session was held for poster and installation works that constitute the project’s implementation phase. Based on the visualization of weekly and monthly weight data of waste generated on each campus floor, striking and awareness-raising design ideas were discussed. The session highlighted the impact of data-driven visual narratives in creating public awareness, and the students’ creative contributions provided a strong start for the project.
The “Sustainable Awareness on Campus” project aims to make sustainability awareness visible across the campus through upcoming implementation and exhibition activities.
